1. Introduction
EKOM1 Inc. (“EKOM1,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a California-based technology consulting company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information in connection with this website (the “Site”), inquiries you submit to us, and related business communications.
This Policy is designed for a business-to-business website and related communications. It also includes California-specific disclosures intended to provide transparency regarding our processing practices and, where applicable, your rights under California law.
2. Scope

- in connection with evaluating potential engagements and maintaining business relationships.
This Policy does not apply to:
- third-party websites or services that link to or from the Site;
- information you provide directly to our clients, partners, or vendors rather than to EKOM1;
- information we process on behalf of a client under a separate services agreement, which is governed by that agreement rather than this Policy.
3. Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of personal information:

6. How we disclose information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.

7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a limited set of cookies and similar technologies on the Site for essential functionality and, if enabled in the future, optional settings or measurement features. You can learn more in our Cookie Notice.
8. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to respond to inquiries, manage business relationships, maintain security and operational records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Retention periods vary depending on the category of information and the reason we collected it. In general:
- Inquiry and contact information is typically retained for up to 24 months after our last substantive interaction unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for legal, compliance, or relationship-management purposes.
- Business communications and correspondence may be retained for up to 7 years where reasonably necessary for record-keeping, legal, contractual, tax, or compliance purposes.
- Server, security, and technical logs are generally retained for up to 12 months unless a longer retention period is reasonably necessary for security investigations, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
- Cookie data is retained according to the lifespan of the specific cookie or technology, as described in our Cookie Notice.
Where an exact retention period cannot be stated in advance, we determine retention based on the nature of the information, the purpose of collection, the sensitivity of the information, the risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, and applicable legal requirements.
9. Security
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we do not guarantee absolute security.
10. California privacy disclosures

We may disclose the categories of personal information identified above to service providers, contractors, professional advisors, and legal or transaction-related recipients for business purposes described in this Policy.
California privacy rights
Depending on applicable California law and our processing activities, California residents may have the right to request that we:
- confirm whether we process their personal information;
- provide access to specific pieces of personal information and information about our processing practices;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- delete personal information, subject to exceptions;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, if those activities occur;
- limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information, where applicable.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Submitting requests
To submit a privacy rights request or ask a question about our California disclosures, please email hello@ekom1.com. Please include enough information for us to understand, evaluate, and respond to your request. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Authorized agents
If you are an authorized agent acting on behalf of a California resident, we may request proof of your authorization and may also require the resident to verify their identity directly with us, as permitted by law.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some web browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is not yet a universally accepted standard for responding to Do Not Track browser signals, the Site does not currently respond to legacy Do Not Track signals in a uniform way. We do, however, recognize and process Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signals in a manner consistent with applicable California law. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, a valid GPC signal generally confirms that preference rather than changing an existing sale/share practice.
Third parties that support the Site, such as hosting, delivery, source-control, and communications providers, may receive information from your browser or device in the course of providing services to us. We do not permit third parties to use Site-collected personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising on our behalf.
California Shine the Light
California residents with whom we have an established business relationship may request information once per calendar year about any disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes under California Civil Code section 1798.83. EKOM1 does not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
11. Other U.S. state privacy laws
Residents of other states may have privacy rights under applicable law. If such laws apply to our processing activities, we will honor applicable rights requests and provide any disclosures required by law.
12. International visitors
The Site is operated from the United States. If you visit the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection rules than those in your jurisdiction.
13. Children
The Site is intended for a business audience and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Site.
14. Third-party links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy notices.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and may provide additional notice on the Site where appropriate. Changes apply prospectively from the effective date of the updated Policy.
